REHEARSALS for Capers

All students who will be performing in the School Wide Talent Show, CAPERS, have two mandatory rehearsals to attend.  Monday evening, April 20th and Wednesday, April 22 from 7:00- 9:30.   Please see Mr. Mathews right away if you have a conflict with this rehearsal schedule.

CAPERS Talent Show  will be on Thursday evening, April 23 at 7:00 p.m.

RBHS Band Competes at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL

• RBHS Bands Spring Break Trip a Success!

  Over Spring Break, 58 students from the Rock Bridge band program participated in the Heritage Music Festival in Orlando, Florida. RBHS took a Concert Band and Jazz Band comprised of members from our current structure of Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Band. Both of the bands that performed in Orlando were awarded the following ratings and placements:
  
  Concert Band – Gold Rating (equivalent of a ‘1’ rating)
  Jazz Band – Gold Rating (equivalent of a ‘1’ rating)
  Concert Band – 1st Place Award in the large high school division
  Jazz Band – 1st Place Award in the large high school division
  Jazz Band – Overall Highest Instrumental Scoring Ensemble
  Concert Band and Jazz Band – Instrumental Sweepstakes
  Outstanding Musician Awards for Jazz Solos – Aaron McCray, Martin Shapiro, and Mickey Jamieson

Vocal Music Department

 The Rock Bridge High School Show Choirs will be performing their 2015 Premier Concert on Thursday, January 15, at 6pm and 8pm in the Rock Bridge High School Performing Arts Center. These show choirs that compete throughout Missouri and the mid-west will perform their competition shows featuring popular music inspired by Divas of the Silver Screen and the Evolution of Flight. PTSA Reflections Contest--"Believe, Dream, Inspire!"

Do you have talent in the arts?  Submit original work to the PTA Reflections Contest!  The theme this year is "Believe, Dream, Inspire."

Students are encouraged to submit an original work inspired by the theme to one of the following categories:  dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.  Student work has the potential to be awarded at the local and state level, and state winners are then considered for national awards.
